Pair bailed over fatal house fire

A 22-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy arrested over a fire in which a pensioner died have been bailed.

Hameeda Begum, 71, was killed and six others, including three firefighters, were injured in the blaze at Great Lever, Bolton, on 23 June.

A 24-year-old woman and a five-year-old girl remain critically ill in hospital.

The man and the boy, who were arrested on suspicion of murder and three counts of attempted murder, were bailed to 24 September pending further inquiries.
