Crash leads to motorway closure

Motorists are facing heavy delays on the M6 motorway in Cheshire after a lorry crashed, trapping the driver.

The road has been closed in both directions between junctions 18 at Middlewich and 19 at Knutsford.

The lorry crossed the northbound carriageway, smashed through the central reservation and landed on its side at about 2015 BST.

Police say no other vehicles were involved. The road completely reopened to traffic early on Wednesday.
