Schoolboy hurt in vandal attack

A 10-year-old boy was hurt when a concrete block was hurled through the window of a house in Manchester.

The child suffered a cut to his head from shattered glass after the attack on the house in Oxton Avenue in Benchill on Sunday.

An accelerant was also thrown at the house but it did not light.

Greater Manchester Police said it is the second time the family have been targeted. A similar incident happened at the end of November.

Det Insp Mark Willdigg, of Wythenshawe CID, said: "It is imperative we catch these offenders because such reckless and dangerous behaviour will not be tolerated."
