Teenager is raped in churchyard

A 15-year-old girl has been raped in a churchyard in Greater Manchester.

The victim was walking along Simonsway, past St Andrew's Church, in Benchill, on Monday night, when a man appeared and dragged her behind the church wall.

He raped her in the church grounds. The teenager managed to get up and ran off to raise the alarm.

Her attacker is described as white, in his late 20s, 5ft 3in (1.6m) tall, with a slim build and shaved hair. Any witnesses are asked to contact police.
