Police have renewed their appeal to trace the family of a woman who was strangled to death at a Greater Manchester hospital.
Rosalind Kim McManus, 58, an in-patient on the open psychiatric ward at Birch Hill Hospital in Rochdale, was found collapsed on a ward on Monday evening.
Telahum Tedola, 36, appeared in court on Wednesday charged with her murder.
Little is known about her background but her birth certificate reveals she was born in Northern Ireland in 1948.
Mr Tedola appeared before Rochdale magistrates and was remanded in custody until 22 August when he will appear at Manchester Crown Court.
A post-mortem examination concluded that Ms McManus died from strangulation.

Police said Mrs McManus was born in Kilkeel Hospital on 14 July 1948 and think she may have family links in Belfast.
They believe that Rosalind grew up in children's homes in Northern Ireland before moving to England in her late teens.
At the time of her death, Rosalind's home was in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.
She voluntarily admitted herself to Birch Hill Hospital just eight weeks before she was killed.
Officers found a document in which she wrote about her life.
In 2004 she said: "My main interest is in animals. I had a dog of my own for a long time. I have had a voluntary job at Oldham Dogs Home.
"I really liked the job and went all the days I was asked to. Unfortunately the job was a bit hard and I had to give it up.
'Resilient person'
"I have had a really hard life. I know nothing of my background except what is on my birth certificate. I intend to go to Kilkeel in Northern Ireland and get a feeling for the place I was born. I may be able to meet a relative.
"I can sing and play the guitar and drums. I like Irish music, collecting ornaments, visiting flea markets and fairs.
"I am independent and have a beautiful house. I have a dog called Lucky. I love him. I enjoy Country and Western music and buying nice things for my home.
"My physical health is poor but I am a remarkably resilient person. I am not one for lying down and dying."
