A 50-year-old man from Greater Manchester has appeared in court charged with murdering his wife at their home in Zimbabwe.
Ivy Sutcliffe, 61, originally from Rochdale, was shot in the head in August 2004 at their Harare home.
Michael Bamford, a taxi driver from Church Street, Littleborough, appeared before Rochdale magistrates on Thursday, and was released on bail.
He is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on 19 July.
The couple had lived in Zimbabwe for about four years and had married three months before Mrs Sutcliffe's death.
The case was investigated by Zimbabwean authorities before being picked up by the UK police.
