Cherry picker man's name revealed

Cherry picker - photo courtesy of Manchester Evening News Police have revealed the name of a man who died when he fell from a cherry picker after it was hit by a bus in Greater Manchester.

Martin Pilling, of East Moor Road, Worsley, in Salford, was in the basket of the cherry picker when it was hit by a bus on Wilmslow Road in Rusholme.

The 27-year-old fell in front of the double decker bus and died at the scene shortly after 0800 GMT on Wednesday.

The Heath and Safety Executive has begun an investigation.

A man in his 30s who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on police bail until January, pending further enquiries.
