Woman's car death is suspicious

Detectives are investigating the death of a 41-year-old woman whose body was found in a car in Greater Manchester.

Officers found the body in a silver Vauxhall Corsa on Beresford Street, Springfield, Wigan, on Tuesday evening. She was pronounced dead by paramedics.

The woman is from the Aspull area of the town but has not yet been formally identified. A post-mortem examination will take place later.

Detectives say they are treating her death as suspicious.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw the car - registration DN55 PKE - on Beresford Street on Monday.

They also want to hear from people who might have noticed someone inside the car.
