Firefighters hopes to put out a fire on moorland near Stalybridge, Greater Manchester, have been hampered by an increase in the wind.
A Gtr Manchester Fire Service spokesman said the wind picked up on Sunday afternoon causing a renewed outbreak.
He said a helicopter is being used to contain the fire until a special vehicle arrives from Derbyshire.
Elsewhere crews in Lancashire, have doused patches of burning grass at Wolf Fell in the Forest of Bowland.
Moorland buggy
Ged Higgins, from The Greater Manchester Fire Service, said the Argocat from Derbyshire Fire Service, is an off-road buggy with high pressure water tanks on the back.
Up to 60 firefighters have been tackling the moorland fire since Wednesday.
A helicopter has been making trips to Walker Wood reservoir in Derbyshire to pick up water and drop it on the smouldering hillside.
Lancashire Firefighters have had better fortune with overnight rainfall in the county helping to control the fell fire in Bowland.
A fire service spokesman said firefighters were stood down there on Sunday afternoon.
