Woman raped in second sex attack

A 22-year-old woman was raped in south Manchester by an attacker she had earlier escaped from.

The woman was walking along Copson Street in Withington in the early hours of Saturday when the man approached her and sexually assaulted her.

She struggled free and carried on walking, but the attacker ran up behind her, before assaulting and raping her.

Greater Manchester Police said the man dragged the woman on to spare land near to the nearby Somerfield shop.

The attacker, who is described as black, ran off in the direction of Withington.

Officers are urging anyone with information about the attack to come forward.
