Teenage boy dies in tram accident

A teenager died when he was hit by a tram in Greater Manchester.

The 17-year-old, who is from the Longsight area of Manchester, was killed on the tracks at Prestwich Metrolink station on Sunday evening.

It is believed the tram was travelling from Besses O' th' Barn in Whitefield towards Prestwich when the collision happened.

Greater Manchester Police said they were not treating the death as suspicious.
