Residents rescued from flats fire

Nearly 30 residents had to be rescued following a fire in north London.

A spokesman for the London Fire Brigade said 28 people had been saved from the blaze in flats on Seven Sisters Road in Tottenham.

About 25 firefighters and four fire engines tackled the blaze in the early hours of the morning.

The London Ambulance Service treated people at the scene for the effects of smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
