Footprint clue snares 'raid' pair

A pair of suspected teenage burglars were caught by police after leaving a trail of footprints in the snow.

The two, aged 16 and 17, were arrested by officers who followed their tracks in Sutton, south London, for more than an hour.

Police were called to a break-in where a garage door was open and items were missing. The officers found two sets of footprints and carefully tracked them.

Police said two people have been bailed pending further enquiries.

The officers who were called to the break-in followed the tracks down side streets, in and out of driveways and across a main road before apprehending their suspects.
