The parents of a baby killed when a car mounted the kerb and hit his pushchair said they were relieved to hear the driver would get a lengthy sentence.
Katie Gutierrez-Perez, 40, admitted causing the death of 15-month-old Finlay Woods by dangerous driving in Chingford, east London, in September.
She also admitted driving without insurance and was told a "substantial custodial sentence" was inevitable.
She was remanded in custody to 7 January for sentence.
'Off the streets'
Appearing via video link at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday, Gutierrez-Perez, of of Selwyn Avenue, Chingford, wept as she admitted causing the boy's death.
Judge Timothy King told her: "A substantial custodial sentence will be inevitable."
Finlay's mother Tina Woods, 31, said afterwards that the prospect of a long sentence for Gutierrez-Perez was a relief.
But she said: "No sentence, 10 years, 50 years, would ever make us feel any better, or bring Finlay back, but it will keep her off the streets."
Her husband Roger, 32, said: "It was good to hear him [Judge Timothy King] say she would get a lengthy sentence."
Finlay was with his mother and grandmother in Cavendish Road, Chingford, when a four-wheel-drive vehicle being driven by Gutierrez-Perez mounted the pavement.
