Charge in foiled jewellers raid

A 17-year-old youth has been charged in connection with a raid on a jewellery shop in London that was foiled by a pensioner.

An 84-year-old walked up to two men as they went to rob the shop in Richmond High Street, and removed a balaclava from one of them.

Two men then abandoned the attempted raid and fled.

A youth will appear at Richmond Juvenile Court on Friday charged with non-residential burglary.
