Knickers on show set world record

More than 100 scantily-clad people achieved a world record when they stripped down to their smalls in London's St Pancras station.

The display, arranged by Fair Trade group Pants to Poverty, received the official nod from Guinness World Records for the size of the group.

Fully dressed commuters were taken aback by the sight of the gleeful group of 116 knicker-sporting participants.

The event was one of several record-setting attempts held across England.

Biggest 'cuppa'

Guinness World Records' editor-in-chief Craig Glenday said: "It's great to see so many people eager to come together for a joint cause and have fun in their underpants."

Another group looking for their place in the record books ate their way through the world's longest line of pizzas.

The event at Camden Lock saw 285.5 metres worth of pizza consumed, beating the old record of 220 metres.

In Fulwood, Lancashire, attempts were made to make the world's largest cup of tea, complete with the biggest tea bag.

In Belfast, there was a precarious bid to set the record for the most people to run in high-heels.
