Police identify gun death victim

Cima Sogojeva, 27

Police have named a man found shot dead at the block of flats where he lived in north-west London.

Cima Sogojeva, 27, was discovered by firearms officers at Caroline Court on Highfield Road, near Brent Cross, on Monday morning.

Neighbours had raised the alarm after hearing gunshots.

Mr Sogojeva died from bullet wounds, a post-mortem examination found. Detectives said they were keeping an "open mind" about the motive.

Joseph Haziza, 27, who works in a butcher's shop nearby, said he was in the garage below the flat when he heard shots.

He said: "There were about three or four shots and screaming.

"Then I saw the armed police arrive with machine guns. They banged on the flat doors one by one until they got to the right flat."

A black C-class Mercedes and a blue Volkswagen Polo were towed away from the scene on Monday night.
