Man fatally stabbed in the neck

The scene of stabbing in Brixton

A man who died following a knife attack outside a club in Brixton, south London, was stabbed in the neck.

Lucan Alistair Gordon, 23, of West Norwood area, south London, was found close to the Domino Club on Coldharbour Lane in Brixton on Friday night.

Mr Gordon was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. He died from a stab wound to the neck, police said.

Police believe he was with friends outside the club when he was attacked by another man.

No arrests have been made over the killing.

Det Ch Insp Garwood said: "We are in the early stages of this investigation and are pursuing all avenues of information."

"He wasn't a person who would get into trouble. It is a massive shock"

Mr Gordon is believed to have come to the UK with his family from Jamaica eight years ago.

Mr Gordon's cousin Dwayne Parch, 20, said: "He was stabbed from behind while standing by the wall. He was stabbed in the left side of the neck."

Friend Sasha Sinclair, 21, said: "He wasn't a person who would get into trouble.

"It is a massive shock, he was like family to me."

James Gouldburne, 43, a parking attendant, said: "I have known his father from when we were both in the army in Jamaica together 25 years ago. Lucan's family moved here eight years ago.

"He was studying for his theory driving test because he wanted to be a driver."

'Soaked in blood'

Lizzy Okyere, 25, who lives in a flat next to the club, said: "I looked through a gap in my fence and saw a young man lying down.

"He was wearing white trainers and was soaked in blood.

"They were trying to resuscitate him but he wasn't moving.

"He was lying there on his own because the police had moved everyone inside," she said.

In an unrelated incident, gunshots were heard in the area of Clerkenwell Road and St John's Square in Farringdon, central London on Friday evening.

A man in his 20s with gunshot wounds to the leg went to a south London police station later that evening.

No-one has been arrested over the incident.
