A free outdoor sports venue has opened in east London as part of a £1m drive to get young people involved in sport ahead of the 2012 Olympics.
The Tower Hamlets "adiZone", named after sponsor Adidas, includes tennis, football and basketball facilities plus a climbing wall and outdoor gym.
A further four venues are planned in fellow 2012 host boroughs Greenwich, Hackney, Newham and Waltham Forest.
British 400m gold medallist Christine Ohuruogu called the venue "wonderful".
'Welcome addition'
"Growing up around here, I know that the adiZones will be a really welcome and needed addition to the local community," she said.
The Tower Hamlets venue also features an open area to encourage dance, aerobics and gymnastics.
Each venue will be maintained by its local borough council.
London 2012 chairman Lord Coe said the initiative "will have a real legacy in London and has the potential to make a real difference in young people's lives".
It followed the opening of Redbridge Cycling Centre in east London last month.
The £4.5m facility was built by the London Development Agency, which called it the "first piece of physical sporting legacy".
