No charges for TV divorce expert

Vanessa Lloyd Platt

A television divorce lawyer who was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice has been told she will not face charges.

Vanessa Lloyd Platt, 53, from Barnet, north London, has appeared as an expert on shows including Richard and Judy and on BBC Radio 4.

She was arrested at a police station in August over a domestic matter.

But no further action will be taken against her due to insufficient evidence, police have now said.

'Unpleasant ordeal'

Ms Lloyd Platt said: "It has been a very unpleasant ordeal and I'm just glad it is over."

She founded family and divorce law firm Lloyd Platt and Company and wrote the book Secrets of Relationship Success.

On Friday she said that the police decision proved there was "no substance" in allegations made against her.

"I'm pleased that my reputation is untarnished and I can get back to work."
