Man stabbed to death in city road

A man has been found stabbed to death in the street in south London.

Hamouda Bessaad, 34, was found by officers with a stab wound to his upper body at the Old Kent Road near the junction with East Street at 2230 BST.

Mr Bessaad, originally from Tunisia, was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination is expected to take place later.

A 29-year-old man arrested in the area was later given police bail. A man, aged 42, was released without charge.
