A trainee chef was shot with a Taser stun gun by police after threatening to kill himself at one of the world's most prestigious cookery schools.
The 28-year-old sparked a police siege when he demanded to retake an exam at Le Cordon Bleu, in Marylebone, central London, on Wednesday evening.
After almost four hours, riot police entered the building and the man was shot with a Taser and arrested.
He was taken into police custody after being discharged from hospital.
"He suffered no apparent injury but was seen by London Ambulance Service paramedics and taken to University College Hospital, as part of our standard procedure, to ensure he suffered no after effects," a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.
Le Cordon Bleu was founded in Paris in 1895 and has since opened 29 schools across the globe, attended by 20,000 students each year.
The school declined to comment.
