O2 hosts classical extravaganza

Hundreds of performers are to take part in a huge classical music concert in London next year.

Franz Abraham's production of Carmina Burana will see dancers, singers and actors entertain 18,000 people at the O2 in January.

Carl Orff's composition will be brought to life by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Brighton Festival Chorus and Youth Choir.

Orff was inspired by 13th Century poems discovered in a Bavarian monastery.

Abraham's production was launched in 1995 and music from Orff's composition has been used for adverts for Old Spice aftershave.
