Two arrests over Matalan stabbing

Jamie Simpson

Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of Matalan shop manager Jamie Simpson, just two days after a £40,000 reward was posted.

The 33-year-old was stabbed in the neck as he cashed up in Hackney's Kingsland Shopping Centre, in east London, on 22 March.

Police said two men, both in their 20s, are being quizzed about the death and attempted robbery at the store.

A third man, aged 26, arrested on Wednesday, has been released on bail.

Matalan offered the reward to help police solve the "terrible crime".

The shop chain described Mr Simpson, of Herne Hill, south London as a "very talented and highly rated" employee who had a great future ahead of him.

CCTV images of the suspects were taken inside the centre.
