One hurt as bus crashes into shop

Accident scene. Picture by Stanislava Tasheva One passenger was hurt and the driver of a London bus was taken to hospital when it crashed into a shop front in south-east London.

The accident happened on Lower Road in Surrey Quays, Rotherhithe, at about 1950 GMT on Wednesday.

A woman passenger in the bus, a 188, was treated for minor injuries and the driver was taken to a hospital "as precaution", police said.

Lower Road was opened after being closed for two hours.

The bus has been removed from the scene.
