London's teenage victims of violence

London has seen 26 teenagers killed in 2007.

BBC News looks back at the youngsters who lost their lives and the latest on the police investigations into their deaths.

Teenage victims

Stephen Boachie, 17, stabbed on 1 January

Stephen Boachie

Stephen, from Dagenham, east London, died after being stabbed on the forecourt of a petrol station in Barking.

He died in hospital later that day from stab wounds.

Chester Daudu, 20, from Stratford, east London, has been charged with murder.

Teenager killed at petrol station

Dean Lahlou, 18, stabbed on 9 January

Dean, from Tottenham, north London, was attacked just after midnight near his home on Broadwater Road, Tottenham, after a night out. He later died in hospital.

Courtney Daley, 18, from Vartry Road, Tottenham, was sentenced to nine years in prison after being found guilty of manslaughter.

Teenager murdered on his way home

Jevon Henry, 18, stabbed on 24 January

Jevon Henry

Jevon died in hospital after he was found on a street in St John's Wood, north-west London. He had been stabbed through the heart.

A man has been arrested and is bailed to return pending further inquiries.

Family plea over murdered student

James Smartt-Ford, 16, shot on 3 February

James Smartt-Ford

James, of New Malden, south-west London, was shot twice near to the entrance at Streatham Ice Arena, in south London. He died in hospital.

Three youths and an 19-year-old man were arrested over the death. There have been no charges.

Funeral for ice rink death youth

Michael Dosunmu, 15, shot on 6 February

Michael Dosunmu

Michael, from Peckham, south-east London, was shot several times at his home. He died in hospital shortly after.

Mohammed Sannoh, 18, and Abdi Omar Noor, 21, both of no fixed abode, appeared at the Old Bailey in connection with the murder and are due to go on trial in April next year.

Both men deny murder and possession of a sub-machine pistol with intent to endanger life.

A 17-year-old youth and two men were also bailed pending further inquiries.

Billy Cox, 15, shot on 14 February

Billy Cox

Billy was shot at his home in Clapham North, south London.

A 20-year-old man was arrested over his death and released on police bail.

Kodjo Yenga, 16, stabbed on 14 March

Kodjo Yenga

Kodjo, 16, died from a single stab wound to the heart in Hammersmith Grove, west London.

Six youths, aged between 14 and 17, have been charged with his murder.

A further two teenagers, aged 14 and 16, are charged with violent disorder.

Peace call at schoolboy funeral

Adam Regis, 15, stabbed on 17 March

Adam Regis

Adam was stabbed to death in Plaistow, east London, as he returned from a night out.

Fourteen people were arrested over the murder and later all bailed without charge.

Car breakthrough in murder case

Paul Erhahon, 14, stabbed on 6 April

Paul Erhahon

Paul died after being stabbed in the heart in the entrance to a block of flats in Leytonstone, east London.

Seven teenagers are to face trial in January over his killing.

Dwaine Douglas, 18, stabbed on 18 May

Dwaine Douglas

Dwaine, from Tulse Hill, south London, was stabbed during a row involving a number of males.

He died in hospital after the attack in Thornton Heath.

Otis Brown, a 23-year-old man from Thornton Heath, south London, has been charged with his murder.

Man charged over fatal stabbing

Danielle Johnson, 17, stabbed on 28 May

Danielle Johnson

Danielle died two weeks after she was attacked in Palmerston Road, in Wood Green, north London.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the chest and head injuries.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the incident.

Teenager dies after stab attack

Sian Simpson, 18, stabbed on 19 June

Sian Simpson

Sian was stabbed in the heart during an attack by a group of teenagers in Mann Close, Croydon, south London.

Chelsea Bennett, an 18-year-old from Gilroy Court Hotel, London Road, Croydon, is due to go on trial on next May in connection with the killing.

She has pleaded not guilty to Ms Simpson's murder.

Ben Hitchcock, 16, stabbed on 23 June

Ben Hitchcock

Ben was stabbed in the stomach in Beckenham, south-east London, when a fight broke out at a party on 23 June.

Eleven teenagers were arrested and released on bail without charge.

Memorial for murdered schoolboy

Annaka Keniesha Pinto, 17, shot on 23 June

Annaka Pinto

Annaka, from Edmonton, north London, died in hospital after being shot at the Swan pub in Philip Lane, Tottenham, north London.

Tristan Oliver Walker, 21, from Reed Road, Tottenham, has pleaded not guilty to murdering her and will face trial at the Old Bailey on 16 June next year.

Simone Manning, 21, and Marlon Golding, 23, have been charged with assisting an offender (Mr Walker).

Abu Shahin, 18, stabbed on 26 June

Abu, from Newham, east London, was stabbed in Ilford and died shortly afterwards in hospital from stab wounds.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with murder.

Street stabbing victim is named

Martin Dinnegan, 14, stabbed on 26 June

Martin Dinnegan Martin was stabbed in the chest during a dispute involving up to 20 youths in Islington.

The 14-year-old is said to be the youngest person to die from a gun or knife-related crime in London this year.

Two youths aged 15 and 16, Sean Clark, 18, from Holloway, north London and Rene Baptiste, 20, from Plaistow, east London, have been charged with his murder.

New charge over teenager's murder

Abukar Mahamud, 16, shot on 26 July

Abukar Mahamud

Abukar was killed by a single gunshot wound to the neck at the Stockwell Gardens Estate in south London July.

A 20-year-old man was previously charged with his murder but the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charge stating that there was "insufficient evidence to proceed with the case".

Nathan Foster, 18, shot on 3 August

Nathan Foster

Nathan, 18, was shot in Marcus Garvey Way in Brixton, south London. He died in hospital.

He was with a group of 10 or 11 youths when they were approached by a male on a motorbike who opened fire.

A 17-year-old has been charged with his murder.

Mohammed Ahmed, 17, stabbed on 30 August

Mohammed Ahmed

Mohammed, from east London, was stabbed to death in Newham in Chesterford Street.

A 23-year-old man was arrested in Dagenham, east London, in connection with his death.

He has been bailed to return pending further inquiries.

Edvin Johnson, 19, stabbed on 16 September

Edvin Johnson

Edvin died after being stabbed in his leg on the stairwell of the Crawford Estate, where he lived, in Camberwell, south-east London.

He was taken to hospital where he died soon after.

Two 18-year-old men have been arrested in connection with his death and have been bailed pending further police inquires.

Rizwan Darbar, 17, stabbed on 7 October

Rizwan Darbar

Rizwan was stabbed in West Ham Park in Plaistow, east London, when he tried to stop a gang stealing a friend's phone.

A 15-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy, two 17-year-olds boys and a 20-year-old man have been arrested over his death and bailed to return to police stations at later dates.

Philip Poru, 18, shot on 14 October

Philip Poru

Philip, a student, was sitting in a car with a friend in south-east London, when they were both shot.

A post-mortem examination found Mr Poru died of gunshot wounds to the chest. His friend was also injured but survived.

No arrests have been made over the attack.

Etem Celebi, 17, shot on 14 November

Etem Celebi

Etem, a semi-professional footballer, was shot as he sat on a wall near his home in Stoke Newington, north-east London.

A 17-year-old boy and Richard Harrison-Allen, 19, from Iveagh Close, Homerton, east London, have been charged with murdering him.

Second charged with Etem's murder

Biendi Litambola, 17, assaulted on 17 November

Biendi Litambola

Biendi, also known as Bobby, died after being assaulted in Canning Town, east London.

Two brothers, Michael Morrison, 21 and Larry Morrison, 22, from Clements Close, Canning Town, east London, have appeared in court charged with his murder.

Fifth arrest over teenager murder

David Nowak, 16, stabbed on 15 December

David Nowak David was stabbed to death following a mass brawl in Farleigh Road, Stoke Newington in north London.

Fourteen people aged between 13 and 19, including one female, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Stab death witness appeal renewed

Nassirudeen Osawe, 16, stabbed on 27 December

Nassirudeen Osawe

Nassirudeen was stabbed while out with two friends in Upper Street in Islington, north London. He and a friend were attacked after a row at a bus stop.

A number of teenagers have been arrested in connection with his murder.
