Man dies after drive-by shooting

A man has died after being targeted in a drive-by shooting in west London.

Daniel Dennis was shot by gunmen who drove up alongside his black BMW at Brassie Avenue in Acton just before 2230 BST on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old from nearby Erconwald Street, was found by members of the public who called emergency services but he died in hospital overnight.

Cause of death will be revealed after a post-mortem examination at Uxbridge Mortuary on Wednesday.

This is a quiet residential area, it was only 10.30pm, I am sure that people would have been up and about, perhaps watching TV and would have heard the gun shots," said Det Insp Dave Rock from Operation Trident.

"There will be people who saw Daniel in his black BMW turn into Brassie Ave.

"This was a targeted attack and we are determined to put those responsible before the courts."
