Man jailed for school-run murder

Jason Greene, 29, was targeted as he prepared to take his children to school by car in Wembley, north-west London, in July 2006, the Old Bailey heard.

Parents and children saw a masked man shoot Mr Greene through the car window.

Christopher Toussaint-Collins, 20, of Hendon, north-west London, was ordered to serve at least 25 years.

Mr Greene was preparing to take his two sons, aged five and eight at the time, to school when he was shot in the heart.

Jurors were told Toussaint-Collins was in a car that was lying in wait but the man who pulled trigger has never been caught.

Judge Peter Beaumont, the Recorder of London, told Toussaint-Collins: "You participated in the premeditated killing by the shooting of a man outside his home as he prepared to take his children to school.

"You did not pull the trigger but you were complicit in a killing that took place in broad daylight in a residential area as members of the public passed."

The court heard Mr Greene's brother Gavin was shot at in February 2005 and a month later Shaun "Stunts" Stanislas, the man thought to be responsible, was shot dead.

John Shorrock QC, prosecuting, said Toussaint-Collins was one of a number of men who wanted revenge for the murder, which was blamed on the Greene brothers.

A note found at his home read: "It's almost a year since Stunts died and no one has taken any action."

Toussaint-Collins, who was 19 at the time, was found guilty of murder at the Old Bailey last month.
