Body found at east London station

An east London Tube station has been reopened following the discovery of a woman's body.

Police were called to Barkingside station at 0710 BST after the woman, aged in her 40s and from south London, was found inside.

A post-mortem of the victim, who has not been formally identified, is due to take place shortly.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "The incident is being treated as unexplained."

The station was reopened at 1325 BST, said Transport for London.
