Police have said they believe a body found in the boot of a car is that of a missing mother-of-four.
Officers said the body was discovered on Wednesday in Janet Hossain's silver Mercedes C180, parked at Tilbury railway station in Essex.
The 32-year-old had gone missing from her home in Manor Park, east London, six days ago.
A 26-year-old man, who was arrested in connection with Ms Hossain's disappearance, remains in custody.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place on Friday and the car has now been removed for further forensic tests.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "While inquiries continue and we await post-mortem results we are working on the assumption the body may be that of Janet Hossain."
Ms Hossain was last seen at her home in Carlyle Road, Manor Park, on Thursday, 19 April, at about 2100 BST, and is understood to have left before the next morning.
Police said her disappearance was "completely out of character" and concerns about her safety have been growing since she went missing.
