Man held over transsexual murder

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a transsexual prostitute more than 10 years ago.

Robyn Browne, 23, was found dead at her flat in Marylebone, central London, in February 1997. She had been stabbed.

A man was arrested in Leeds on Wednesday and is being transferred to a London police station.

"The arrest follows a review of the evidence using techniques that were not available to the original investigating team," a Scotland Yard spokesman said.

Born James Errol Browne, Robyn Browne was undergoing sex change treatment at the time of her death.
