Litterbugs face fine in clean-up
Persistent litterbugs face £80 fines as part of a drive to clean-up one of south London's most deprived areas.
The anti-litter enforcement operation is part of Operation Freshview, launched in four wards in Lambeth.
Hedges will be trimmed and graffiti removed during the scheme, which will also see young criminals gardening and painting street furniture .
Coldharbour will be the first to get clean streets and walls, followed by Herne Hill, Oval and Vassall wards.
The council will also ask locals to provide ideas to improve their area and schools.
Fire fighters, pest control and environmental health officers will carry out inspections of shops and restaurants.
