Man in court over youth's murder

Julian Knight A 19-year-old has appeared in court charged with the murder of a teenager who was stabbed in the neck during a street fight.

Julian Knight, 16, died after he got caught up in a fight involving up to seven others on Saturday in Thamesmead, south-east London, near his home.

Stelios Paraschakis, 19, from Thamesmead, was held in custody after the Greenwich magistrates' hearing.

He will next appear at the Old Bailey on 24 October.

Julian died from a stab wound in Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich an hour after the attack.
