Two women killed in road accident

Two women have been killed in a road collision in Lincolnshire.

The accident, involving a Ford Mondeo and a Kia Sedona, happened on the A153 Horncastle Road at Dalderby at about 1420 BST on Friday.

The driver of the Mondeo, believed to be in her 20s and from Shropshire, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The driver of the Sedona, a woman in her 50s, was airlifted to hospital where she later died, police said.

A male passenger in the Sedona is said to be in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

The road was closed for several hours.

An investigation into the cause of the accident has begun.
