Burnt-down club rises from ashes

Woody's Bar Fire

A restaurant complex at a Lincolnshire country club is back in business four months after it was destroyed in an arson attack.

The owners of Woody's Bar at Woodland Waters in Ancaster spent £500,000 and worked around the clock to rebuild the function room, bar and restaurant.

Owners Malcolm and Denise Corradine had to cancel weddings and make 25 staff redundant after the fire on 15 March.

A 29-year-old man initially arrested has been ruled out of the inquiries.

£3,000 reward

Mr Corradine, 56, said: "It's been really hard work, but now it's reopened it's like a weight off my shoulders.

"We've been able to give the place a bit of an update, changed the layout a bit and made it more open plan - everything is brand new and smells nice."

At the time of the blaze, a Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said he believed fuel had been used to start the fire.

About 40 firefighters tackled the blaze at the 72-acre fishing and camping site, which broke out shortly after closing time. No one was in the building at the time.

Mr and Mrs Corradine have offered a £3,000 reward for information given to police that directly leads to conviction.
