Lorry driver dies after accident

A lorry driver whose vehicle left the A17 in Lincolnshire and hit a tree has died, police said.

The 53-year-old man from Grimsby was taken to Lincoln County Hospital with serious injuries last Thursday morning.

He was cut free from the cab of his Mercedes lorry at Brant Broughton by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue officers.

He died on Saturday from his injuries. Police are appealing for anyone who saw the accident or saw the Mercedes lorry before the crash to contact them.
