Man hits boy in unprovoked attack

A 10-year-old boy from Lincolnshire has been assaulted by a man in what police described as an unprovoked attack.

The boy was on Silver Street in Holton Le Clay on Sunday evening when the man, aged between 40 and 50, verbally abused him before hitting him across the head.

The boy, who had been playing with friends, was knocked to the ground but was not seriously hurt.

Police believe the man might have been drinking in the Edwinton Arms pub before the assault.

He is described as wearing black trousers and a blue coat and had grey hair.

Anyone who has information about the incident is asked to contact police.
