Thieves steal centre's motorbikes

Ten motorbikes have been stolen from a learning centre for children with behavioural problems in Lincoln.

The bikes were being restored by children as part of a project at the Mary Knox Centre.

The centre runs practical courses, including engineering sessions, which have been stopped since the burglary at the weekend.

Police have asked anyone with information about the stolen bikes to contact them.

Head teacher of the Mary Knox Centre, Jerry Tucker, said there were wider repercussions from the burglary.

"The Mary Knox Centre serves a massive area," said Mr Tucker.

"We have had to contact three schools as we were due to go out and do display work, but without bikes we can't do a display."
