Lincolnshire Police have made an appeal for new canine recruits to be trained up as sniffer dogs.
The county's force use dogs in a number of roles ranging from general policing duties to specialist roles such as drugs or explosive search dogs.
Dog section officers are looking for springer spaniels, Labradors or border collies which are between one and two years old.
Any dogs offered to the force will be assessed for their suitability.
Sgt Paul Cragg, who heads up Lincolnshire Police dog section, said: "Each dog goes through a thorough assessment.
"As all dog lovers will know, every animal has an individual personality and temperament, and we go to great lengths to try to ensure that the dog is right for us, and just as importantly, that working with the police is right for the dog.
"Life as a police dog is active, challenging and rewarding. Each dog is allocated to an individual handler to train with, work with and build up a relationship with."
Anyone with a suitable dog is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police.
