Survey puts spotlight on resort

Skegness

Less than 2,000 people have filled out and returned a survey asking for their views on the development of the southern seafront in Skegness.

More than 21,000 people had been sent the survey by East Lindsey District Council but only 1,700 responded.

Council spokesman Ian Bustin said that despite the relatively low response rate, it was enough to give them a "representative" view.

The survey's findings will be released at the end of the month.

Mr Bustin said: "The exciting time will be next summer when developers put things on the table - and people will be able to come and look at them."

He added that the survey's findings would help shape the area for the next 30 years.

The survey would provide developers with "clear information from the outset in terms of how local residents, visitors and partners would like to see the town developed for the future", he said.
