Man arrested over serious crash

A motorist who fled the scene of a head-on crash in Lincolnshire was arrested after police used dogs and a helicopter to track him down.

Police were called to a stretch of the A52 between Grantham and Muston at about 0215 BST after reports of a head-on collision between two cars.

A 41-year-old woman had to be cut from her car and was taken to Lincoln County Hospital with leg and pelvic injuries.

The A52 was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out.

A man is now being questioned by police.
