Recreation park gets £1.5m revamp

A popular recreation park in Lincolnshire is set to undergo a £1.5m improvement after the district council pledged to fund changes.

Jubilee Park in Woodhall Spa has an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, bowling greens and large open spaces.

East Lindsey District Council will meet in May to discuss how to spend the money after a public consultation.

The Friends of Jubilee Park (FOJP) said they wanted to make the site a tourist attraction for the region.

Craig Leyland, chairman of the FOJP, said: "We are hoping to influence how the money is spent.

"We'd like to see a stainless steel liner for the swimming pool which would be maintenance free for a number of years and would also be visually impactful.

"We feel, as a community, this would be a great attractor for the village, district and county."

It is hoped work will begin in October.
