Plans unveiled for coastal park

Lincolnshire County Council has unveiled plans for a country park on the coast.

The park would be between Sandilands and Chapel St. Leonards and it is hoped the development would provide better protection for wildlife in the area.

Residents are being asked to give their views on the plans, which are being displayed at various events.

Potential features include a visitor or heritage centre, networked observatories and better parking.

Eddy Poll, from Lincolnshire County Council, said: "Lincolnshire's wild, dune coastlands, sandy beaches and hinterland of open grazing marshes attract large numbers of short-stay holidaymakers from all over the country and wild birds from all over the world.

"There is a fantastic opportunity, to the north and south of Anderby Creek, to improve existing wildlife and visitor facilities and create new ones, which can help to generate a vibrant local economy."

Plans will be on display at Anderby Creek beach car park on 13 April and at the Grange and Links Hotel in Sandilands on 16 April.
