Home badly damaged in explosion

Two people have been injured in a gas explosion which ripped through a home in Lincolnshire.

The explosion in the bungalow in Boston happened on Wednesday evening. The residents escaped from the Allington Gardens property with minor injuries.

Station manager Graham Almack from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said the home was badly damaged.

An eyewitness said a woman was taken to hospital with a broken arm and burns. A man was treated for shock.

Alan Ball, the son of the couple who live in the house, said the gas oven apparently exploded.

"My father was sat in the lounge at the time and there was a big explosion and he ran into the kitchen," he said.
