Appeal as samurai swords stolen

An appeal has been made by police after 20 samurai swords were stolen from a property in Leicestershire.

The owner of the house in Peterborough Road, Oakham, found the swords had been taken from her garden on the afternoon of 15 July.

A silver Apollo pedal bike was also stolen in the incident.

Officers said the theft took place during the day and considering the items taken, they were hopeful someone might have noticed something unusual.

Pc Kevin Gray said: "We would also like anyone who is approached by someone trying to sell them a Samurai sword or anyone who knows of someone who has acquired a number of the swords in suspicious circumstances, to call us."
