Drivers warned of bridge repairs

Drivers have been warned to avoid a busy road junction in Leicestershire while essential repairs are carried out to a bridge.

Work is due to take place at the County Arms crossroads on the A426 Leicester Road and Little Glen Road junction.

Temporary traffic lights will be put in place along Leicester Road while the repairs to the bridge over the Grand Union Canal take place.

The work will start on 13 July and is expected to take six weeks to complete.

Lesley Pendleton of Leicestershire County Council said: "Through careful planning and consultation, every effort has been made to minimise disruption but to avoid delays, drivers are being urged to avoid the junction if possible and find other routes."
