Cyclist killed in road accident

A cyclist has died in a collision involving a car in Leicestershire.

A 70-year-old man was arrested after the bike collided with an Astra estate on the A5199, south of Shearsby, on Wednesday morning.

David Brian Grundy, 70, from Gilmorton, Leicestershire, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Police have urged a lorry driver, who was travelling from Husbands Bosworth towards Shearsby, to come forward as they may have seen the crash.

The driver of the Astra was not injured.

Det Sgt Ivan Stafford, said: "We don't believe this lorry driver was involved in the collision but we do need to speak to him as he may recall key details about the incident or the events leading up to it."
