Advance warning over road works

Drivers are being given advance warning about an M1 slip road closure in Leicestershire which could affect some journeys, the Highways Agency said.

From Monday 10 November the junction 24a Castle Donington slip road will be closed for four nights while resurfacing work takes place.

Drivers will be diverted via junction 24 onto the A50 towards Derby.

Highways Agency project manager Kam Khokar said drivers should allow extra time for their journeys.

"This work will replace the existing surface, add a high-friction surface to the top of the slip road and replace road studs and lines," said Mr Khokar.

"All the work is taking place overnight when traffic flows are lightest to minimise delays to motorists."
