Fatal M1 crash couple are named

Police have released the names of a couple killed in a crash on the M1 in the East Midlands.

Paul David Tomlinson, 66, and his passenger, Doreen Tomlinson, 64, from Leicester were in a car which collided with another car and two lorries.

A 74-year-old Lincolnshire man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving was released on bail.

The southbound carriageway was closed for several hours after the crash near junction 24A on Tuesday afternoon.

Two occupants of a second car sustained minor injuries and were taken to Derbyshire Royal Infirmary.

Police want to hear from any witnesses.
