Youngsters gathering at dog camp

Young people from across Britain are gathering in Leicestershire for the annual Youth Kennel Club camp.

Dog enthusiasts between eight and 15 years old will spend the week learning how to get along better with their pets at Brooksby Melton College.

Lessons there will include agility and obedience training.

The animals will also have a chance to take part in flyball, a sort of relay race involving jumps and catching a ball from a box triggered by the dog.

Britain's Got Talent stars Kate Nicholas and her collie Gin, the latest talent to come out of the 3,500-strong Young Kennel Club, have attended the camp three times.
